Brooke Charter Schools offers City Year alums

Teaching residency

Brooke Charter Schools offers City Year alums the opportunity to join the . Associate Teachers are paired with a talented mentor teacher and receive a yearlong apprenticeship in great teaching, including regular observations/feedback and targeted professional development, and receive the following benefits:

  • Reimbursement for the cost of the Massachusetts Test for Educator Licensure and Associate Teachers obtain their SEI endorsement through participation in a Brooke-organized online SEI course taught by a DESE-approved course provider.
  • Full benefits and guaranteed starting salary of $55,000 for teachers without prior lead teaching experience. Successful Associates who become lead teachers earn a significant salary increase of at least $72,000.

After a year of support and development, the majority of Associate Teachers are ready to take on their own classrooms as full-time teachers.

The Associate Teacher Program is a yearlong teacher residency where aspiring teachers gain the skills necessary to lead high-achieving classrooms and equip their 91 with tools to advocate for a better future. The City Year experience is a strong indicator of future success at Brooke Charter Schools, and serving with City Year strengthens an applicant’s chances for being selected as an Associate Teacher.
