Vermont Law and Graduate School offers City Year AmeriCorps members, alums, and staff

30% tuition discount

A 30% tuition discount will be awarded to up to 5 qualified City Year AmeriCorps members, alumni, or staff members per year, renewable for the duration of the program.

Pursue your master’s on campus, online, or through a hybrid model.

Earn your juris doctor (JD) through an on-campus or online hybrid program.

To maintain the tuition discount, which is applicable to all degree programs, recipients must maintain continuous registration and remain in good academic standing according to Vermont Law and Graduate School’s standards.

Tuition discounts are awarded to City Year AmeriCorps members and alumni who complete at least one term of service, as well as City Year staff employed for at least two years.

The tuition discount described above represents the minimum award for eligible City Year AmeriCorps members; applicants will be considered for additional merit-based aid depending on the academic strength of their application.

  • Master of Public Policy with concentrations in animal protection policy, food and agricultural policy, energy regulation, justice reform policy, and transnational environmental policy
  • Executive Master of Environmental Policy (available online only)
  • Master of Climate and Environmental Policy
  • Master of Energy Regulation and Law
  • Master of Arts in Restorative Justice
  • Master of Legal Studies (available on campus only)

• Juris Doctor (JD) Programs:
  • Online Hybrid JD (3.5 years)
  • Traditional JD (3 years)
  • Accelerated JD (2 years)
  • Reduced Residency JD (3 years)
  • Extended JD (4 years)
  • Joint JD/master’s
• Graduate Certificate Programs:
  • Restorative justice

• Enrollment deferral: Vermont Law and Graduate School will allow deferrals for up to one year if accepted applicants decide to serve additional time with City Year.

To access the application fee waiver and apply for the scholarship

To get the application fee waived and be considered for the scholarship, please request a service verification letter by emailing the City Year Alumni & Career Services Department at alumni@cityyear.org with “Vermont Law and Graduate School: City Year Verification Letter Request” in the subject line. Within the email, include the site where you served and dates of service. This letter will be sent back to you for you to upload to your application under “miscellaneous attachments”.
