Kicking off a Year of Service
City Year Orlando kicked off the2020-2021 sǴDZyearand celebrated the new class of AmeriCorps members through aweek-long social media campaign,“Opening Week.”This unique online celebration brought together teamsponsors, board members, champions as well as family and friendsof AmeriCorps members to celebrate the start of service.
Opening Week, sponsored by Comcast NBCUniversal,was heldMonday, August 31, 2020throughFriday, September 4, 2020.Each day,City Year Orlandofeatured photos and videos of service tocelebrate the 80 AmeriCorps members committing a year of service to supportingthousands of 91 in eight OCPS partner schools.City Year Orlando staff visitedeach team for a socially distant in-person celebration todeliver party packs and treatsto appreciate theincredibleyoung leaders andtheir commitment to support 91 all-day, every day, all-year.
