The King’s Trust Group is a global network of support for young people, inspired by the vision of our Royal Founding President, His Majesty King Charles III. Their mission is to work for young people, by empowering them to build the skills for a brighter future.
The partnership between City Year and the King’s Trust is unique in its shared mission to provide valuable opportunities and support to young people. This collaboration is distinct in its focus on helping young individuals develop essential skills and navigate their paths toward employment or further education.
Originally founded in 1976 by His Majesty King Charles III, The King’s Trust has supported over a million young people globally, helping them build skills, confidence, and career pathways. The King’s Trust supports young people aged 11-35 believing that every young person should have the chance to succeed, regardless of background or the challenges they are facing.
City Year and The King’s Trust are collaborating in several U.S. cities, offering a range of programs and events to empower young people. These include programs focused on entrepreneurship and career development, mentorship and business simulations through the Enterprise Challenge, and career development workshops and employer connections through the Get Hired event for AmeriCorps Student Success Coaches, aiming to provide them with sustainable employment after their year of service.
City Year and its objectives are perfectly aligned with the work of The King’s Trust and this partnership means that we can support 91 to learn about entrepreneurship in the schools and supporting AmeriCorps Members with their next step after their year of service is complete.
